Net Metering in Bangladesh
বাংলাদেশে নেট মিটারিং
Net metering connects an eligible renewable-energy installation to the utility network and provides an approved method for recording imports, exports and applicable credits. MPE can help prepare the technical scope; approval remains with the utility.

Check the current framework
Use the Net Metering Guidelines 2025 and current utility instructions. The ordinary inverter AC-capacity limit is linked to the sanctioned load; exceptional arrangements require the prescribed review. Panel kWp and inverter kW are different quantities. Connection type, site and equipment compliance still need assessment.
Understand the application sequence
Start with consumer details and an installation proposal. The utility reviews the application and site before permission to install. After installation, the system is evaluated and the applicable agreement and metering arrangements are completed. Do not treat an estimate or a submitted application as permission to export.
Prepare the technical package
Bring recent bills, sanctioned-load details, connection information, site layout, proposed capacity and equipment data. Confirm the required metering, protection and documentation with the utility. Module and inverter eligibility should be checked using the official approved-equipment resources.
Keep export credits separate from bill savings
Electricity used directly on site can reduce purchased energy. Exported energy is accounted for under the applicable rules, including the relevant adjustments and settlement process. Demand charges, meter charges and taxes can remain. This website calculator does not reproduce utility billing or promise a cash payment.
CAPEX and OPEX are different commercial choices
An owner-funded project and a third-party investment arrangement have different contracts and responsibilities. Review roof access, equipment ownership, maintenance, insurance and commercial terms before committing. Any offered financing or energy-sale arrangement needs its own quotation and agreement.
